Quick Update

palm
Quick personal update on a whim. Today is Juy 3, watched the Carol Stream fireworks from the window in my room. Gino invited me to Lombard Ribfest but I need to save money and was reluctant to drive as my car needs care and to be treated well right now. Was supposed to go to Great America for Hurricane Harbor with Jim but I slept late and missed it (though not overly late, I thought we'd still have time to make it but Jim disagreed.) Ended up staying home today and playing Red Dead Redemption. Good game but my character doesn't always to the things I want him to. Moving further back, stopped by Benedictine yesterday and spoke to the admissions counselor I wasn't aware that I had about MBA classes; I'd wanted to sign up for weekend classes but those form very slowly and that wasn't an option for the near future. I elected for the weeknight format classes, same as my BAM was, only this would be on Thursday nights at the Moser center. If the timing is right, I may start with a very small break between my BA classes and grad school, which is fine with me. I hope it works out.

Also yesterday, I did my weekly weigh-in, and am happy to be able to say that I've reached my goal weight of 175 lbs! Yay for me! I'm almost as proud of that as of graduating college, ha ha. I've set an unofficial new goal of 150 lbs (or thereabouts) by year end. If I make it (and honestly I suspect I will, unless something unusual and game-changing comes up), I'll have lost over 60 lbs this year. I still need a job though. A lot is up in the air for me at the moment, that's why I thought I'd take a moment from my MST3K-watching (season 9: Final Sacrifice woohoo) to document it.

Would be nice to be able to say that in 2010, I graduated college cum laude, lost 60 lbs, got a new job, and started grad school. I'm on my way to all of that now. The most daunting of those is looking for a job - that can/will have a major impact on my life, although I do think I have some goals to shoot for now, or at least options.

Went to see Puddle of Mudd with Jim Wednesday night at Milwaukee Summerfest; I passed out once I got there after running up the stairs and hit my head on his tub. Nothing like that has happened before, Stephen thinks it was from the running, sudden change in elevation, and suddenly entering into the stuffy apartment. Was scary. Could also be that my nearly-vegetarian diet of the last few months contributed. Have been changing the bandage, I hope I don't get a scar, though it looks like I may.

Pride parade was last weekend, also went with Jim and Jim2. Hang out with him a lot I suppose. Met Kelvin a couple weeks ago, he was utterly smitten with me and wanted to date me from the get-go. I had to give myself some space. He still calls and I don't pick up, I feel a little bad about that.

Joe invited me out tonight but I declined, gonna try to get a decent amount of sleep so that I can get up early and try for 6 flags again tomorrow. Happy 4th!

March 28-April 1st, 5 days. Stayed at Hostels International downtown and loved it. I know now where I'd like to manage my energy to moving, if an opportunity arises and to make my own.

Applied for a few jobs. Working on tibet group presentation, meeting my study group at 7 at the Schaumburg Library. Last night was Justin's 30th birthday, missed it. Was invited to Gino's place too, stayed in cause of the homework ostensibly.

Getting warmer out, looking forward to summer and as always the Pride Parade and Market days. Have been messaging a guy on OKC, his name is Pete and he's 37 and cute and funny.

Easy Solution to Almost Everything

Sleep less?

Spring is coming, next Monday will be daylight saving time, one extra hour of sunlight.

Its Monday night going on Tuesday. Have to work on take-home test tomorrow during lunch.

Wanna get a dr's checkup for me and my bum.

Smoked, drank, & fucked with Larry, just got home. I needed it. His hot tub is off for the winter. Its 12:29 and I just set my alarm to 7:29 from 7:30. Symbolic gesture to myself.

Started working on my resume today, just touched monster.com. By week's end I'd like to have it up and searchable again.

Getting car engine worked on on Saturday. A lot of small goals floating around in my head; I'm feeling somewhat inspired/energized right now. Dreamy, hopeful.

Heading to the Works in a bit with Gus and Andy, Gus should be here any moment now to pick me up. I'm fronting $12 for Andy to get in. Should be a fun time, we're all gonna get lockers. I slept most of the day today (Saturday...Valentines Day), was tired. Have had tummy flu (?) all week, hope its gone now. Had annual review yesterday, doing well. Math test due Tuesday, have to work on that. Have all kinds of help waiting which is great.

A

Just checked my BenU grades, I got another A! My calling off work for 2 days paid off it seems, even if not an ideal situation. 4 straight A's! Off work today for MLK day, will work on math homework. Today is Bush's last day in office. I'm naked in bed right now with the feather blanket that gets feather fragments all over on top of me and Macboo on top of that. Playing Megaman on SNES emulator. Watched MSI concert DVD last night. Saw Benjamin Buttons with Jim and Jim finally and had a brief spat about texting. Bryan or Gus might come over today.

Woke up late this morning (its Sunday) and drove to new building. Unpacked the crates and set up new desk for an hour. Can't post anything on the cube walls apparently. Nice building. No more driving to Aurora, this one's a bit closer. Drove to Jim's to see Benjamin Buttons movie, along the way Jim texted me asking where I was. I went to respond and slid off the rode into a snow drift in a forest preserve. Called Triple A who towed me out, second time calling them for a tow in less than a week (car broke down whilst driving to final MIS class last Tuesday). First day at new building tomorrow, obviously. First new class (Mat) Tues. Seattle Sutton delivery man bringing meals tomorrow after work, gonna try that out for a while.

Going to sleep after I post this. Talked to Dustin in Florida and Nams on the phone today. Hard to get ahold of Dale. Have a song in my head. Ordered MSI CDs for a chance to get Jimmy's suit piece.

Saw Day the Earth Stood Still last night with Dan M. Passable movie, wonderful company. We got an Auntie Anne pretzel and he paid for my ticket since I got breakfast last time. What a sweetie :) Go skinny tall 20 year old singers :)

Seeing Linda Eder tonight with Brad from BC. Free ticket from his work. Not familiar with her work but should be an entertaining evening. After that hooking up with Matthew downtown for some kinky play, then study group tomorrow afternoon.

I Give Thanks

just finished watching Sleuth, was so impressed I thought I'd take some time out for a quick entry. I think its a new favorite. Actually have seen a trifecta of great movies over the last few days - other two are The Fall and Session 9. Also new favorites.

Today is Thanksgiving, will be going to mon&dad's house for a small get-together. Got out of work early today, off Friday too, nice to have a long weekend. Saw The Changeling over the weekend with Matt at the Century. There was a protest going on outside, took some short cellphone videos of it.

Thank You is a great emotion.

Have to visit Benedictine Finance office Friday to get the loans straightened out. New professor Tuesday, he's kind of a comedown after Dr. G. I'm getting Straight A's! Good feeling to have. Couple interesting new additions on facebook. Yay!

Wanted to check out Seattle Sutton, seems interesting, the pick-up time doesn't jive with my work schedule though.

Busy Busy

31 unread emails in the yahoo acct, gonna try to tackle that in this sitting. Been up to a lot lately. Guess I'll start with some recent stuff and work back from there. Saw Dr A today for the first time in 3 mos. Chatted for a min, went to Walgreens, picking up rx tomorrow. Had a nice weekend, added Justin as a Facebook friend and adding Gloria now. Yey for peeps getting accts on social networks I'm on! Ok its half hour later, got some stuff taken care of, emails still there.
Slept over at Matt K's place Friday night, and on Saturday we went to Navy Pier for the SOFA Art show. Cool stuff! After a while it all starts to look the same. We drove there, I didn't want to wait for and ride the el in the cold. Afterwards he gave me a full-body professional massage on his massage table. Me so happy.
Getting further in GTA! Class tomorrow. Sunday met study group to discuss our presentation for Dr. Gilbert's class, due next Tuesday. We're going to present on the Obama campaign (incidentally, this was my first year voting, and my candidate won!)
Last weekend visited Jim in Texas! Flew Continental on the way there and United back. We went to Six Flags Over Texas which is less crowded and a bit smaller than our Six Flags, and was a long drive. I slept for part of the way there. Saw the TX scenery though. Was a nice change of pace. We also drove to Galveston island and witnessed the (partially reconstructed) hurricane damage. We both took some seashells and I put my hands and feet in the Gulf water. Drove around downtown Houston briefly on the way back and took a quick view at the gay hangouts. Didn't seem to be an obvious gay area that we saw.
I'm applying to join a swinger's club. That's one of the emails I have to address. Have to pick a lender for my student loans too. I think maybe that's it for a while! Shaved my bum in the shower and got Arby's for myself and Justin on the way home tonight. Hope I didn't miss anything. Four days of work left this week, which will be less by the time I read this again :)
Did think of more, Gino's b-day is coming up and we're going to Blue Man Group Friday. Will be second time seeing them. Seeing Matt again this weekend! He seems like a sweetie.
